ORCHARD COTTAGE:
"A great place to stay with a fabulous lounge and everything you need provided. Really friendly and helpful people. The mountains have been great – especially the cols south of Oloron. But don’t follow the Pamplona road beyond St Jean Pied de Port – it goes for miles through gullies and trees and you see nothing! Use all the minor roads and enjoy the wildlife and orchids. A very relaxing holiday with glorious weather."

"We have had a glorious 4 weeks of September sunshine. Have woken up to see blue tits and robins pecking insects from the window frames. Have also seen the red squirrel crossing the orchard. Have not been overactive but enjoyed trips to Hossegor/Cap Breton, Pau, Bayonne, Orthez. Enjoyed the fête du Sel in Salies and trips to local markets for fruit and veg. Would recommend Auberge Claverie at Audaux (4 course plat du jour for 13 euros) and Tarte Julie in Bayonne. An idyllic break."
